I found this Common Wood Sorrel
(Oxalis acetosella) in flower on the slope above the Wooden Bridge. I love the heart shaped leaves. This plant is perched atop a rotten log, covered in moss, and surrounded by Ramsons.
Bell like flowers of the Sorrel visited by insects
Perched on a log, this Sorrel flowers
Turn your back and you can almost hear the bulbs shooting up behind you. The sheets of Ramsons are forming quickly now.
Ramsons sprouting up quickly
Ramsons drop right down to the very bank of the stream
4 weeks behind their neighbours at Stone Bridge, the Snowdrops at Keeper’s Cottage are finally coming into flower.
Finally the Snowdrops at Keeper’s Cottage are coming into full flower
Flowers nearly fully open, weeks after those at the Stone Bridge.
The bank opposite the Cottage is now covered with the little nodding bell flowers.
While the Snowdrops at the Stone Bridge are in full flower, those at Keeper’s Cottage are yet to open up today.
